As soccer fans around the world turn their attention to the FIFA World Cup, Community Blood Center (CBC) is reminding the community that the need for lifesaving blood donations never takes a break.
To help meet the ongoing needs of local patients, CBC is partnering with Sporting Kansas City for a special blood drive on Wednesday, June 25. The event aims to harness the excitement surrounding the global tournament while encouraging the community to make a lifesaving impact close to home.
Every day, patients across the Kansas City region rely on blood donations for surgeries, cancer treatments, trauma care and chronic medical conditions. As summer schedules fill up and donations often decline, maintaining a stable blood supply remains critical.

Donors who participate in the June 25 blood drive will not only help ensure local hospitals have the blood products they need, but also receive a limited-edition Sporting Kansas City t-shirt while supplies last.
The partnership builds on CBC’s strong relationship with Kansas City’s sports community and continues the momentum from recent initiatives like the We Bleed KC campaign, which united local teams and fans in support of the region’s blood supply.
Employees are encouraged to help spread the word about the drive and thank donors for stepping up to support patients throughout the summer months.
