On September 23, Community Blood Center (CBC) personnel participated in the Heart of America Association of Blood Banks (HAABB) 2026 Fall Meeting in St. Louis, Missouri. The annual educational conference brings together transfusion medicine professionals from across the region to share knowledge, discuss emerging practices, and strengthen connections within the blood banking community.

CBC’s Vice President of Operations Chelsea Tibbetts and Manager of Client Relations Tracey Graham staffed the CBC vendor booth, engaging with attendees and highlighting the organization’s services and expertise. CBC leaders also contributed to the educational program, with Gina Folk, Manager, Immunohematology; Lynsi Rahorst, Director, Education & Training; and David Harsh, Manager, Hospital Services presenting during the conference. Gina presented a case study on polyagglutination, Lynsi shared an educational session on the Rh blood group system, and David participated in a panel discussion on whole blood utilization.
In addition to their meeting participation, Immunohematology Supervisor Megan Dupont and David Harsh continue to support the profession through their service on the HAABB Board of Directors, helping guide the organization’s mission of providing high-quality education and professional networking opportunities in transfusion medicine.
CBC’s presence at local and regional meetings is an important way to strengthen relationships with customers, collaborate with colleagues across the transfusion medicine community, and share our expertise. Through educational presentations, professional leadership, and active engagement with attendees, CBC continues to demonstrate its commitment to advancing patient care and supporting the future of transfusion medicine.
