Autologous Donation Program

This program enables a patient to give his or her blood for use within the next 35-42 days for whole blood and 42 days for red blood cells, usually for elective surgery. You are a candidate for autologous donations if you: 1) have a hemoglobin of 11.0 g/dL or greater; 2) donate no more frequently than every seven days and 3) make last donation at least seven days before your scheduled surgical procedure. To arrange for an autologous donation, your physician must contact Community Blood Center's Special Donations Coordinator as early as possible to ensure there is enough time for you to donate.
